Redesign of Syntagma Square

The renovation of Syntagma Square considers the needs of all users. The exit from Syntagma metro station leads through a promenade surrounded by a park and a water element to the central shopping street of Ermou. The archaeological site at the eastern part is accentuated by a staircase leading to the park and to the outdoor cafeterias with tree-shaped canopies, and connecting the square with the site of the monument to the unknown soldier in front of the Parliament. A second semicircular staircase leads to an amphitheater area for relaxation and recreation. An entertainment area for parents with children is provided on the lower level. The southwestern part is reserved for organizing large-scale events.
